What days do the classes take place?
Our classes take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings as follows:

Saturday
8.30am – 11.00am Learn to Swim
Sunday
9.00am – 12.00pm Learn to Swim
12.15pm – 1.00pm Length Classes
1.15pm – 2.00pm Length Classes

What abilities do you cater for at Sea Lion Swim School?
We cater for all skill levels from beginners up to competitive swimmers who wish to work on stroke development.

Where do the classes take place?
All our classes take place at St Albans High School for Girls, Townsend Avenue, St Albans.

How much are the lessons?

How many classes do you run at one time?
We run a maximum of 7 classes per half an hour for Learn to Swim and 4 length classes. This will enable you to stay at the same time period as your child progresses throughout the school.

Are the teachers in the water?
Yes, we have a very high ratio of teachers to swimmers at Sea Lion and we teach in the water. We find the children learn much quicker this way and it encourages confidence.

Are the teachers qualified?
The lead teacher in each class is a fully qualified Level 2 or above teacher. The other members of the team are either qualified Level 1 teachers or Water Assistants who are working towards their Level 1 qualification.

Are the teachers DBS checked?
Yes, teachers and poolside staff are DBS checked.

What happens when my child finishes at Sea Lion Swim School?
We work closely and have passed a large number of swimmers on to the local competitive swimming clubs including Hatfield Swimming Club, Verulam Swimming Club, City of St Albans Swimming Club (CoStA) and Harpenden SC. We also have contacts for those swimmers who wish to take their bronze, silver and gold awards develop their fitness or start training for triathlons.
